County Supervisors to Take Up Stonegarden Vote Again on Tues.2/20

Pima County Supervisors meeting:
Tuesday 2/20 at 9:00am, Board of Supervisors Hearing Room

Pima County Administration Building, 130 West Congress, 1st Floor
If you are planning on going to the Pima County Supervisors meeting on Tuesday 2/20 here are some specifics:

Richard Elias has set the StoneGarden reconsideration for a time certain at 10:30 am  on Tuesday 2/20.
He will start hearing speakers who have signed up for call to the public at this time.

Stonegarden allows a Border Patrol agent to immediately detain motorists after a traffic stop by a deputy sheriff, something the agent could not legally do alone. Stonegarden enables this “pairing” of agents and deputies.

The federal Office of the Inspector General (2017)  found weak oversight, no metrics, objectives or benchmarks. These issues have not been corrected in eight years. Most Stonegarden money goes for overtime pay, which perpetrates a cascade of related costs for fringe benefits.
